Recommended Reading
Below is a list (in no particular order) of books about dyeing that I would recommend to anyone interested in getting started with natural dyes.
- Wild Color by Jenny Dean- This book has been my dyeing bible. It is full of great info on getting started dyeing using plant materials. Another great thing is that it is easy to follow and has beautiful pictures of the plants to dye with.
- A Dyer’s Garden: From Plant to Pot Growing Dyes for Natural Fibers by Rita Buchanan- A great little book on using plants for dyeing. It has nice pictures as well as information on how to grow the various plants it lists. This is the book that first got me started dyeing with herbs many years ago.
